The Island of Long Beach is a project like no other; it stands alone as THE major impact to the California Economy, in strengthening local communities from the ground up. Within 10 years from the start of the Island of Long Beach project, more than $10 billion dollars will be invested in the U.S. Economy with more than $5 billion invested right here in California.
Our promise in putting both people and community first, is our priority. The Island of Long Beach is slating more than $10 million dollars annually to private and civic organizations. Tens of millions of dollars to schools throughout California with educational resources provided throughout the resort in History related projects.
The city of Long Beach itself would benefit more than $300 million dollars in annual tax revenue, this reflects back to the people of Long Beach to ensure a better way of life for each citizen and to revitalize Long Beach as a world class destination.
The Island of Long Beach will also invest more than $400 million dollars into a mass transit Monorail System. Running more than 30 miles throughout the cities of Long Beach and Signal Hill, the Long Beach Monorail System would be the largest and most advanced system in the United States, bringing the City of Long Beach closer together - faster and with more convenience.
The Island of Long Beach will also place a substantial investment in the Long Beach Airport opening the door to the world to visit Long Beach, in addition to partnering with the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific and the Long Beach Convention Center in the continuation of a brighter future for us all.
With current economic conditions, jobs are needed badly all over the country. California's current unemployment rate at 13% (Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), Californians are desperately in need or jobs and the Island of Long Beach can put back to work over 75,000 Californians, with more than 40,000 permanent positions at the resort alone. History Lines operators of two of the worlds last remaining Steam Ships would produce an additional 35,000 jobs right here in California.
The economic impact of the Island of Long Beach stretches worldwide, but the effects in jobs and money are felt mostly right here in California. The Island of Long Beach will bring in millions upon millions of new tourists; local businesses who have been struggling over the past few years will breathe new life and the Island of Long Beach will work with each business to provide the best possible service to our visiting guests.
The Island of Long Beachs Commitment to "Buy Local, Buy American" is a commitment we are proud of. Everything the Island of Long Beach needs from building supplies, labor, fruits, vegetables, merchandising and more will be purchased & manufactured right here in California or the United States, ensuring the freshest foods and finest quality materials available from right here at home.
Two of the Nations last remaining steam ships will shine with a new found light, both sitting a country apart, but both sharing a very real reality, fading into history. The Island of Long Beach is proposing a change, to once, and for all restore and reactivate the two majestic ships. To return the grandeur these ships held, restore their history as never through could or would be possible.
Both ships would call Long Beach, California their home, and set sail as two of the worlds last real steam ships, in returning to the golden era of Ocean Travels and reintroducing a new generation to what traveling the high seas once was, and will again be. Said to be impossible on all fronts, the Island of Long Beach with the American Liner Project and the Queens Project say, it can be done and we'll get it done. With our proposed $2.2 Billion Dollar Project these two lost treasures will once again, rewrite history and welcome you aboard to be a part of it.
For this is just the start of what the Island of Long Beach can do, for the return of History is nothing short of Spectacular.
